The Scouts Come Marching

I'm excited to say that more sponsors have jumped on board including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cernan Space Center. Hooray!

Today I brainstormed a project with a local troop of Scouts that would involve work for an Eagle Scout award. We are discussing the possibility of the Eagle's putting together Outdoor Adventure Packs that people could check out. Ideas included fishing packs, birding guides, looking at trees and more. Stay tuned! We will meet next week to get the gears rolling.

We're also going to book them in for a Scouting Adventure travelogue program where the Eagles would talk about outdoor camping and adventure and bring along some of the gear involved. I think I may have many a kid excited to see this one.

One of the parents of the scouts read about our program and started brainstorming........so another hooray for community involvement.

I also now have extra manpower for all these strange and mysterious things that we will be collecting with a troop involved with helping to package and ship them, and my teacher volunteer is already working steadily on neato collection boxes.

And so we plod along!
